A Seed Sown In Love

When God sent the prophet Elijah to the poor widow in Zarephat of Zidon during a serious famine, she was left with only her last meal and was prepared to cook it, eat with her son and expect death. The prophet asked her for a very difficult thing; it was to give him that same last meal. However, she didn’t hesitate, she gave it and the miraculous followed. When you don’t have enough to eat, you have enough to give to multiply what you have! That poor widow would have died supposing she held on to her last meal but when she gave God her last meal through His prophet, God fed her miraculously until she no longer needed miracle to survive (1Kings 17:8-16). Which of His prophets have you decided to feed or partner with? Which of His children have you decided to support? Remember that when that widow was stranded God didn’t just send her a miracle, He sent her a need which when she met, her needs were met in return. What need do you see? Every prophetic need is an opportunity for prosperity. Believe in God to be established, believe in His prophets to prosper (2 Chro. 20:20).

If God couldn't help a poor widow until she gave her last meal despite how compassionate He is, then He bless by the law of sowing and reaping. Jesus never laid hands on anyone to be rich, He asked them to give in other to receive (Luke 6:38). Without a seed there can be no hope of harvest and whoever waits for a perfect condition before they can sow shall never reap (Ecc. 11:4). No receiving without giving. When peter gave Jesus his boat for a pulpit, Jesus returned the favor with a miracle of a great catch of fish which was so much that Peter’s net broke and both his ship and that of the friends that also came to gather the fishes began to sink (Luke 5:1-7). When Solomon gave God an offering that none has given Him before, God decided to make him like no king before him in greatness, wisdom and wealth (1Kings 3). An unusual offering brings an unusual favor! Never underestimate the power of a seed because it is the key to a harvest.

When you don't have enough, it isn't your harvest but your seed. Sow in the morning, sow in the noon, sow in the evening because you don't know which seed will produce that miracle harvest (Ecc. 11:6). Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy (Psalm 126:5). If what you have is so small that it puts a wrinkle in your face, sow it for a harvest that will give you laughter. Your seed secures your financial future! You cannot beat God giving! The anointing you honor you will sow into and the anointing you sow into, you will flow into! A seed is an expression and prove of honor and honor multiplies favors! Honor the Lord with your substance (Pro. 3:9).

In this Kingdom, your gift isn't measured by quantity but by quality. The degree of love with which it is given determines its quality. When Jesus went to the temple, He sat at the place where people were casting their offering because He knew that you can tell where someone’s heart is by where they put their money.  Your heart and your treasure travels together, if your heart is with God you will give Him your treasure (Mark 12:41-44). You can tell how much folks value God by the way they treat Him in worship. You can tell how much they love by how much they give for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, which means everything (John 3:16). Sacrifice is the measurement for love. Wherever your love is, your money will also be. The poor widow gave all she had in her two coins but the arrogant rich brought so little from their abundance. Jesus said the woman out-gave them all! Seeds touch God when they're sown in love. They attract His heart! God favor sowers! He always responds favorably to the honor displayed through sowing. If you will honor Him with your substance, He will favor you with His!

There are breakthroughs that will never come until a seed is sown. God couldn’t breakthrough on earth until He sowed His only Son and now He has billions of children across the planet. What are you willing to part with for the breakthrough you desire? How do you intend to prove your honor? What are you willing to sacrifice? David understood honor, he wouldn’t give God an offering that would cost him nothing (2 Samuel 24:21-25). Don’t call it a sacrifice if it is easy to give! Don’t call it a sacrifice if it costs you nothing! Don’t call it a sacrifice if it isn’t sown in tears. A sacrifice is painful but the increase it brings is breathtaking!
